If you’ve walked down Atlantic Ave lately towards Pier 6, you may have noticed a new store peeking out next to Floral Heights between Hicks and Henry. The shop, named Nest Egg Kids, opened last weekend and is a younger sibling to the flower purveyor–run by owner Charlotte D’Costa Taylor.
So why the switch? Charlotte told Bococaland that, “Our floral designs have been a hit and we have a loyal and enthusiastic following but sales for the household gift items were sluggish. Many of my customers are young parents who have been coaxing me to start a kid’s store that would compliment the flower shop.
With the new park at the end of Atlantic Avenue we have even more families with kids stopping in and so we thought it was time to launch. After close consultation with our client base we have carefully selected products that reflect their needs and preferences. We have educational and eco friendly toys, artwork, furniture, and books for kids from infants to 5 year olds as well as some infant clothing. We will have customized gift baskets for baby showers, and newborns.
Many of the companies we feature have built a reputation for being socially and environmentally conscious which is very important to us. Our product lines will be refined yet creative, aesthetically appealing and lots of fun.”
Dig it. Always nice to have somewhere new in the hood to peruse. And love the gift basket idea! I know where I’ll be going for my next baby shower gift.
